After 43 incredible years, we celebrate the retirement of our co-founder, Gregory Sargent. His leadership has been a driving force at Kittell, Branagan & Sargent (KBS) since day one.
Greg helped start KBS in 1986 with a clear goal—to provide excellent accounting and advisory services while building lasting client relationships. His focus on doing things differently helped shape the firm’s identity. As Managing Shareholder from 2007 to 2022, Greg guided KBS through major growth, always staying true to our core values: putting clients first, working as a team, and delivering thoughtful, reliable solutions.
To those who’ve worked with him, Greg has been more than a leader—he’s been a mentor, motivator, and friend. He’s helped shape a culture built on trust, collaboration, and care. He’s supported the growth of countless professionals by encouraging curiosity, confidence, and community.
Greg’s dedication doesn’t stop at the office. He’s long been involved in nonprofit work and community leadership across northwestern Vermont. From serving on boards to holding key financial roles—including the Vermont Arts Council and Northwestern Medical Center—Greg has used his skills to give back. He will continue to serve on both boards.
While Greg is stepping away from his daily role at the firm, his impact will remain. His values, his vision, and his belief in doing the right thing will continue to guide us.
Greg is looking forward to spending more time with family, enjoying Vermont’s outdoors, and embracing all that retirement has to offer—from skiing and fishing to pick-up hockey with his grandkids.
Greg, thank you for your leadership, your heart, and your many years of service. You’ve helped build more than a firm—you’ve built a legacy.
With gratitude,
The KBS Team
